'Rising Green' Youth Hub on shortlist for NLA awards

AJ 40 under 40 talents JA Projects and Freehaus were appointed together to develop the retrofit and transformation of an existing high street retail unit into an interim youth space in the centre of Wood Green.

This transformation of an existing high street retail unit into a youth centre in the heart of Wood Green, Haringey, has been shortlisted in the Culture category. This category celebrates civic buildings, museums, galleries, theatres, libraries, sports facilities, community hubs and youth centres – projects that put cultural experience at the heart to create better places for residents and international visitors.

The New London Awards, organised by NLA and supported by the Mayor of London, celebrate projects of varying scales across London. Shortlisted projects are built and unbuilt; their common thread is a sustainable, well-designed and considered approach.

Following this shortlist announcement, an international jury will select winners for each category. Winning projects will be announced at the Annual Lunch, taking place in November at the Guildhall and will include a three-course meal and Official After Party (sponsored by Lockton).
