First phase of Tustin under construction

Render for Manor Grove, Tustin Estate

Phase One of the Tustin Estate redevelopment is close to reaching practical completion, marking an important step in the renewal of this Southwark community.

Located near Old Kent Road in south-east London, the project began with the demolition of part of the original 1960s estate. Following a Southwark Council design competition, JA Projects, working within a team led by dRMM, has collaborated closely with residents to help shape the future of the estate.

As part of this first phase, 14 new infill homes within the Manor Grove area are currently under construction for existing residents. The design draws on the character of the surrounding terraces and local industrial heritage, offering a contemporary reinterpretation of the area’s identity.

In total, Phase One will deliver 167 new social housing units across three blocks, replacing outdated homes with modern, energy-efficient accommodation that supports the long-term sustainability of the community.
