“My favourite architects are multifaceted world builders; the Steve McQueens of the world, those who rally people around stories and hold a mirror up to the way we live,” says Jayden Ali in his interview with Ellie Stathaki, Features Editor at Wallpaper*. Stathaki visited Ali's studio and home to discuss how he and his multidisciplinary practice, JA Projects, use social justice, community and connection to influence the avant-garde architecture of the British capital and beyond.

The feature explores how, from the 2023 Venice Architecture Biennale to public interventions across London, Ali positions design as both narrative and infrastructure. His projects foreground community, material sensitivity, and cultural memory, offering a model for architecture as an active civic tool that not only reflects society but also participates in its transformation.
